The adult entries were so wonderful and gave us many ideas on how we can shoot some of our future photos. The "Eyes Have It" was a fantastic theme to learn from.
Congratulations to all of our Top Ten winners!

Each week we send the judges a list of 20-30 of what we consider to be the top entries in that week's contest. Since this is a photography contest, we consider two things: the quality of the photo and does the photo follow the weekly theme. We also try to send the judge a good mixture of photos - many of the top photos come from people who consider themselves to be amateurs and many of them come from people who consider themselves to be professionals.
After the judge receives the photo, it is all subjective from there. The judge picks the photos that speak to them the most...and what a difficult job that would be!
Just for fun, we thought that we'd show you our top picks for the week in each category. We are here to tell you, it was a tough choice to make!
Amy's Top Adults Pick:
Jen Olsen
"One word...A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!"
Angie's Top Adults Pick:
Cirque du Vivre "I loved that this photo looked so completely natural...almost like she was just caught in a casual moment. The colors were vibrant and her eyes just shine with a quiet contentment. Beautiful!"
And now it's your chance to play along as well. In our comments today, we'd like YOU to pick your #1 pick for Adults. There are only rules:
1) You can't pick your own entry. {hee!}
2) You can only pick one #1. (No cheating and picking five #1's because "it's so hard to choose.")
You can choose from anyone who entered Mr. Linky this week. Please provide the Mr. Linky name and number for your #1 pick ~ we can't wait to see what you choose as the winner!
{If you ever have any questions about I ♥ Faces, please feel free to contact us through our email account. We will try to help you anyway that we can!}

I didn't have time to go through all the entries, but two of the ones I did get a chance to see are in the top ten. (Halsey Happenings and Boybarian Dad) I thought both were right on. Overall, I pick Boybarian dad because I love pictures that tell a story. The look on the brides face is so precious.
I dunno...it seems to me that 90% of the Top 10 are professional photographers. I understand that this is a photo contest but amateurs really don't have a shot do they? I was really excited to enter but it seems like unless you have tons of fancy equipment, you don't stand a chance. I guess that is just the nature of the beast, though.
Okay..
Time to consider an amateurs contest..
It may be open to everyone but a professional judge will pick a professional photo..
Congratulations to the winners! I think you mean choose my favorite for adults not pets? In any case, I like number 5, so real and spontaneous. I wish he was a relative.
So awesome! Thanks Amy! :) It's kinda cool seeing my work on here...actually, really cool!
This is to Lauren. By no means am I a pro photographer as I have just started out in this business just a couple months ago. I was going through my photos from a few years ago, and I had some pretty cool ones taken with my point and shoot camera.! I've even posted a couple on my site. (heehee)
I firmly believe that it's not the equipment that makes a good photograph, the person behind it does...equipment is just a means to create a vision.
I am always viewing the work of more experienced photographers and sucking it all in, in hopes that I, too, will someday create awesome art such as there's. It's very inspiring and gives me the biggest headache as I stare at the computer monitor for hours on end it seems.
I just hope that no one gives up on their love for photography because they feel inadequate or bummed out because of a contest. Just keep at it! and think positive, as I am having to do all the time. In the end, all that matters is that you are doing what you love.
Best regards to all of us here!
oh, & my fav. from the top ten here is the second one. Love the splash of blue!, and the funkyness of it.
I didn't have time to look at all the entries, but of the ones I saw on Monday, Halsey Happenings was my favorite. Her dh's eyes are amazing and we got a two-fer with her little boy's in there too. It's a great shot all around.
I also really love Jen Olsen's. I hadn't seen that one before this post. It is just awesome. It's very dramatic and not like any of the others. I think it's easy to wind up with a lot of very similar shots. (Note the similarity in #8 and Angie's top pick--and mine was also a somewhat similar pose.) This one really stands out because it is a) a great photo and b) something different. Okay, so the pose is not that unusual, but the way the sunburst goes right through the eye makes it unique.
Well done, everyone!
Wow, thank you!! This is on of my favorite shots of my DH! What an honor! Thank you again!
hey, guys,
just a word of encouragement - please don't give up if you really want to be good at photography because of one contest! i am in business for about a year, and i have a TON of growing to do. i saw amateur shots that were better than mine... and winning shots, that, in my opinion, were not as good. try to remember that one, art is subjective, and as such, even a technically perfect photo may not catch the judges' eye, and a technically imperfect photo may be emotive enough to snag awards! two, if you really want to learn, you can study and become technically great with very basic equipment. at the same time, an eye for a great shot needs to be developed. good luck to all, and keep entering! angela, http://www.lovinglegacyphotography.com
Not a professional here. I'm very grateful that the pros do stop by. I've learned a lot in the past few weeks not only from them but some of the amateurs as well, truly inspiring.
B Dad
i go with number 8!!!
I think people would be amazed how many of these pictures are from amateurs. If this were divided up, has anyone thought about how pros vs. amateurs could really be mandated? When does one become a "pro". How long does one remain an "amateur"? The main point of this site is to learn and inspire. The winners aren't getting huge awards...it's a blog button. It's an honor. This site isn't making money, and the founders are spending unbelievable amounts of time going through pictures. Can you imagine how discouraging it is to them to get criticized over this? I happen to know that there are many cool things planned for the future. Hopefully everone will just keep with the spirit of things...as I feel most people are...learn from each other, inspire each other and encourage each other.
God bless.
Thank you so much for includin gmy photo in the top ten! I was thuroughly shocked! There were so many good entries!
I love love love the 4th place entry! GORGEOUS!
What an honour!! Thank you so much, I am so thrilled and tickled pink to be #7! I have had a blast checking out all the other entries.
I don't think I was being critical of the website, I was just making a point. I can see the incredible talent that the pros have and I do enjoy looking at their work for inspiration.
However, I do support separating the pros from the amateurs. I have Nikon D50 and a flash gun but even on my best day, I'll never get the clarity that the pros do. I am not blaming anyone for this...just my bank account since I can't upgrade my camera and equipment for awhile. I do feel inadequate competing with the pros (if even for a blog button) and probably shouldn't.
Wow! Thanks, Jodi! I can't believe I placed! This was a great confidence booster to open my photography business later this spring. And my dad will be thrilled. (And @lifesignatures - thanks! He is a very fun relative!)
