When we look for photography inspiration, the internet is one of the first places we turn to. We’ve found that there is no shortage of photographers, websites and photostreams to be inspired by!
Did you know that one of these places of inspiration is one that was created by all of you? That’s right…one place that we go to all the time for inspiration is the I ♥ Faces Network! We are constantly amazed at the incredible photographs that are uploaded to our network for us all to learn from and be inspired by. Here are just a few from our Network Photostream that have caught our eye recently:
While you are spending time in our Network, be sure to take a moment to add us as your Network friends. We love being able to get to know you all better that way!

Constructive Feedback Friday

Tomorrow we are planning to have our next Constructive Feedback Friday rather than our typical Fix-It Friday. This is your opportunity to enter a photo that you really like, but you know it has problems with it and you aren’t sure how to fix them. Or you could enter a photo that you really thought was an awesome capture, but then you saw it on your computer and it really didn’t turn out all that wonderful at all.
Enter your photo into our special Mr. Linky tomorrow and then member of our community and the contributors will stop by to give you some Constructive Feedback on how your photo could be improved through editing or how it could have been improved while you were taking it.
This special Mr. Linky will only be open for the first 40 participants so be sure to get your photo and link ready now to be entered tomorrow morning.
If you’d like to participate in this special feature, we ask that you please read this information from our last Constructive Feedback Friday first. Entries that don’t follow the guidelines specified in that post will be deleted to make room for other entries.

A Helpful Camera Hint
Written by: Rachel from American Mum
Did you know that there is a way to spruce up your JPEGs in most cameras?
I'm not sure about point and shoots, but most DSLRs will allow you to change a few aspects about how your RAW file is converted into a JPEG. You can play around with your sharpness, contrast, saturation and color tone.
Here's how it goes down on my Canon 5D. This should be the same for most Canons and similar for Nikons.
Go to Menu - Picture Style, and down to User Def. 1. You can set your own style! Yay!
Now hit jump, and you can change the sharpness, contrast, saturation, and color tone. If you want to know my personal recipe, I've set the sharpness up all the way, the contrast up two notches above zero, saturation two notches above zero, and color tone at zero. My pictures come out so ridiculously sharp, even magic sharp (one of my favorite sharpening actions) is almost too much. I end up having to use it at about 30-40%. And sharp is my thing.
I've had so much success with these settings that with perfect exposure, I don't even touch 'em. And THAT saves time! Of course in certain situations, you might not want as much contrast - maybe a portrait or something. But most of the time, these are right on.
Keep in mind that if you shoot in RAW, these settings won't apply. These are settings applied to the JPEG.
So go play around and find the recipe that's right for you. I'd love to hear what works well for you!

Thank you Amy and Angie! This totally made my day to read this and nod and agree and boom, there is a picture of my daughter I took. Very true this website is an inspiration and challenges me to try harder to make my pictures better and learn and grow!
You girlies rock!
Woo-hoo! We've gotten quite a few new members on our network today. Welcome everyone!
I've sent requests to 10 new friends on the network today...so much fun! Has anyone else taken the "challenge"?! :)

I'm loving that all natural look with that little boy, boogers and dirt. It's everything boys are LOL
I love this - of course! I had a quick question about the tutorial - I'm thinking I cant change those settings on my Canon Digital Rebel? I dont see the menu option she talks about . . .
R U Kidding? I am SOOOOO fired up to try your settings! Waa! Hoo! I can't get to my camera fast enough! I, too, have the 5D. I have noticed these settings, but never had the opportunity to change them due to needing to have my camera in a "safe" setting. i shoot in manual mode and have never found the need for RAW. I just shoot in large JPEG, incase I want to blow it up. Gonna need to change that soon, cause I am working on my second external drive. It is a fabulous camera. I took a pic, just this week that I didn't touch! I only edit in Picasa. I hope to learn something else soon. Love it! Can't wait! Can't wait! Thanks for sharing!
Becka, you can but you need to do it from the menu. Look in your manual and it should tell you how under "More Advanced Techniques" & then "Customizing the Picture Style".
Thanks again Rachel!
Thanks for sharing one of my photos on the blog today! I love having a place to share them w/ everyone!
Got the settings changed and am looking forward to trying it out in the morning. And I'm pumped to realize that you can do more than one picture style; I did #1 just as Rachel said, because I, too, love sharp and saturated. But I can also do a #2 setting that I can quickly switch to and choose "Portrait" instead of "Standard" and then make it a little less sharp, etc. There are a number of options, and it is SO cool that I can have all of those preset. If this cuts back on post-edit time, then Rachel, if I ever meet you, I will KISS you! <3
That's funny, because I was looking at that exact option on my camera the other day. I abandoned my efforts because I had no idea what custom setting I should apply. I'm so excited to try this out, starting with the settings Rachel provided. (Thanks, Rachel!)
Becca ~ I have a Canon Rebel XSi. I got to these settings with a button on the back of the camera(down arrow) that looks like a circle made out of boxes. Or, you can go to Menu - 2nd tab over - picture style - user def. 1, 2 or 3. Pressing the display button allows you to get to the menu to change the settings. I don't recall this option on my last Rebel camera. It may be possible that older Rebels don't offer it?
Echoing the above Whoo Hoo!!
This site is full of inspiration and better yet, wonderful people that are so willing to connect and help others out. I love that about this site.
Rachael,
Thanks, for the assignment! I can't wait to see what a difference these settings will make.
