my daughter really dislikes me taking pictures of her - dislikes? i use that word because 'hates' is probably too strong :). she's usually good for one or two pictures, but that's it, unless i want pictures of angry faces - lol!. i had some ideas i wanted to try at the lake with the dock, but kali was so not interested. i bribed her with a swim in the lake if she would let me have 15 minutes of shooting - lol! she basically ignored me as i shot all around her. this picture was one of my favorites for the day and the first one i thought of for "contemplative" :O).
I had so many contemplative photos this week, it was hard to choose. Can't wait to see everyone's entries!! :0)
At first I was a little upset because I didn't think that I would have time to take a new picture to enter into this week's challenge, but after uploading photos from a weekend getaway, I found a beauty!!! Can't wait to see all of the other entries...so far there's some really great ones!!!
It is so fun to just KNOW which picture to submit. None of the 'this one or that one'
Thanks for doing this theme so I can use my favorite picture of my daughter. It was taken over a year ago when we thought her hair was curly. Little did we know what curly really looks like until the ringlets appeared!

I have many pictures of contemplation of my older daughter, but I wanted to enter my baby girl this week! It was quite a task to find one of her without her glaring at me! :) But I found the perfect one her waiting while I dropped my oldest off for her first day of school.
I was introduced to IHeartFaces when our daughter's wedding photographer, Cydil Waggoner of Lexington, KY, won an honorable mention the same week she posted our daughter's images. I'm a VERY amateur photographer, just now having the time to try to learn how to take "real good" photos and learn to make them better with editing. When I saw the upcoming challenge on "contemplative," I immediately thought of the shot I had recently taken of my daughter and son-in-law when they were in town for a family baby shower. I'm looking forward to learning from all the wonderful experience on the site.

It sounds like I am much like the others. As soon as I saw the topic of this week's contest, I KNEW which photo I wanted to enter.

Kind of a tricky theme this week. You really have to read the story behind the photo to appreciate it. I hope I'm not the only one struggling between idealism and realism when it comes to kids and sports. :)
Great topic this week and some great photos. Wonder what all those people ARE thinking about :)

This week's theme is a fun one. Rarely do I find photos of myself or my husband. It's always photos of the kids. However every so often I sneek one in of my husband and a lot of times he has a contemplative look on his face. I think he's always thinking about our next home improvment project!

I took the picture of the two sisters at a big get together. They had no idea I took their picture until I showed it to them later. They were looking off at something. This is my first time to enter.
On the pet photo one, I think we were sitting down to eat. The three dogs were looking in at us hoping to come in and share our food.
I can't wait to get to go through everyone's pictures!
This week I entered one of my youngest that always makes me think she is contemplating some major mischief.
My "pets" picture is of a gorilla that was taken at the National Zoo that has always made me feel a little sad.
Entered my first time today. My girl saw a bug while I was photographing her and she was a little "freaked" and fairly contemplative!

I can't post to your Linky from work, but I've entered a photo of my cat in the "just for fun" section. She looks "contemplative" in the photo. I think she is contemplating her next devilish pranks!
Hard to find a contemplative picture with two boys that always "do" before thinking, but I think I found one. My little guy is often found watching his older brother and I can just imagine the wheels turning his head about how he wishes he was older and just like big bro!
Contemplation = no eye contact for me. I found one of my DD looking dreamy from several years ago. It's sure fun to go back and re-edit old pictures now that I know more about post processing and have a calibrated monitor!

I just love Mondays now! I just find there are so many entries I can't possibly look at them all. Love what I am seeing! I heart faces rocks!!
I posted a great photo of my son and my father-in-law. There's definitely a family resemblance! I also posted a ridiculously goofy, very non-contemplative photo of our dog attacking a sprinkler. Cracks me up every time I see it. I'm really enjoying all of the photos this week! (as always!)

Although I just started to play along with i heart faces, I knew exactly what photo I wanted to use for this week's challenge: a shot of our family's newest addition. He is definitely thinking something in the photo!

Who says that the subject has to look at the camera for the photo to look good? This weeks theme is the proof that photos taken when the subject doesn't know it are just as good (if not better).
My entry is of my daughter looking at nature around her during one of our family hike...

This is a fun category! A face that is clearly contemplative is a face that is clearly expressive. What amazing photos! :-)

I'm thinkin' that my "Contemplative" snap, "I'm Thinkin' About It," is a lot different than some of the Rodin-esque "The Thinker" shots you'll get. Just sayin...

As soon as I saw this weeks theme I knew exactly what photo I wanted to enter for the Contemplative challenge. It's of my sons first day back at school. He didn't even know that I was taking his picture! That is what makes it so great. If only I could get inside that mind of his.
I entered the pets catagory too from a trip to the zoo.

This is my first time entering a photography contest EVER. I was lurking for a few weeks and really liked the atmosphere here... I felt comfortable enough to share my contemplative pic!
